Dr. Cario's practice is devoted to comprehensive care of women throughout the life cycle. He believes strongly in preventative medicine and has a commitment to the promotionof health through individual and community education. Dr. Cario is the Director of the St. George Urodynamics Centre and the Sydney Women's Endosurgery Center (SWEC) and therefore has special interests in urinary incontinence, pelvic floor surgery and advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) and endoscopic surgery. He also provides services in family planning, infertility, menopause and normal and high-risk obstetrics. Dr. Cario believes in developing a close personal relationship and rapport with each patient. This confidence and trust is based on open communication. Obstetrics and gynaecology is unique in that this communication needs to be available 24 hours-a-day.

Urgent referrals on emergencies can be accessed 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week on 95797731. Referring doctors and local practitioners can use this casualty like service for insured or self insured patients to gain instant access to Dr Cario's private team in the same fashion that operates in private clinics in the USA, Europe and Asia. This applies to patients with appointments to see Dr Cario as well as those who  have never seen Dr Cario in the past and are new patients who want to avoid the impersonal attention from junior staff and often prolonged waiting times that are such a common feature of today's local Casualty Department. Of course public patients can avail themselves of acute care through Casualty at St George Hospital where Dr Cario has been a consultant for many years and is presently chairman of the department

Our practice is jointly run from two offices within the major private hospitals in the south of Sydney, at Hurstville Community Private Hospital Medical Centre and St. George Private Hospital Medical Centre. Our computerised appointment system allows both offices to interact. Please call either office for appointments or all other enquiries. If you need to cancel an appointment please do so as soon as possible in advance. Every effort is made to see you at your appointment date and time, but the nature of obstetrics in particular, provides confinements and emergencies, which may cause delays. We will do our best to keep you from being inconvenienced.
